Bill's new hours at work

Bill has been trying to work with his company to negotiate a better work schedule. And about 2-3 weeks ago they offered him a schedule that will allow him to go in at about 6 am and be home by 6 pm so we are happy they are being reasonable.

I hope to be able to do home health therapy starting this fall while Jude and Rachel go to pre-K. We both feel this would be best for the kids and for me as they are starting to be quite a handful for me all day at home. They are getting very active, especially Jude. They need more structure and social interaction with other children; I think they are ready and so am I. I have been home-schooling them so they can develop their writing and beginning reading skills.

Happy St. Patrick's Day ( belated)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

An Old Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Jude's check- up at Shriner's Hospital with Dr.Novick

Jude had his check-up at Shriner's Hospital on March 3rd and got the thumbs up from Dr. Novick. His feet are well corrected. We printed the email from Dr. Ponseti ( which is posted in this blog) and gave it to Dr. Novick- which was neat; she had the nurse put the email in his chart.

It was funny. Jude told me this morning that he wanted to tell the doctor .."if (he) could put the brace in the trash?" I said that, " I am sure you won't have permission by the doctor to do that , but that you could ask her yourself." And so today at the appt. I asked Jude " Is there something you want to ask Dr. Novick? " And Jude turned his head toward me and whispered "...put the brace in the trash?" So I relayed his question to her and she smiled and laughed as well as most of the staff standing there that day. It was cute! I wish he could put the brace in the trash ,but he will be wearing it for another 2 years to prevent relapse, sorta like a person wears a retainer after their braces are removed.

Jude weighs 35 pounds! He has gained about 10 pounds since we received his referral back in October of 2004.

It is so wonderful to see the progress he has achieved with his feet. His primary physician , Dr. Tan, was amazed at how well he is walking when he saw him at his yearly physical about a month ago.
